    how does it all work?

We are cruising addicts as of Dec, and, while on a Caribbean cruise this month, a fellow passenger told us about cruisefish.  We are assuming that we will end up getting better prices for the cruises we have booked but don't know how to get started.  So far, we're loyal to Princess and will be going on a Mexican Riviera cruise Feb 4 - 11 to qualify as Platinum for the May-July from Rome to Shanghai on the Majestic.  We're also booked on an Iceland, Norway, Scandinavia cruise from Aug - Sept.  Now what should we do?  Is there a place to submit the cruises we have booked and then wait to hear about price drops?  Mahalo and Aloha for your help!  Kauai Swimmer

Select the cruises you wish to follow and then sit back and wait for your notifications.  Cruisefish has saved us thousands in the past;  however, the majority of the notifications I get these days are because the prices have gone UP....not down.  Also, be aware that many times a new promotion with a price drop may exclude you for certain reasons--such as "new bookings only" or it may be after final payment...in which case you might be able to upgrade your cabin for a small charge.  Regardless, it is a very useful tool.

Thanks for your prompt reply; however, when I was looking for the three cruises we have booked, none of them came up undr the Finder tab.  Is there another place where I can submit them?  I appreciate your advice.

That is odd.  How about listing one (or all)  of them and I will see if I can find it.  Also, as a newbie to the site, be sure and check out the frequently asked questions at the link on the bottom of the page.  The print is faint (no contrast) and it is hard to see.

    Ruby Princess - Feb 4-11, 2017

    Majestic Princess - May 21 - July 9

    Crown Princess - Aug 26 - Sept 17

    Thank you!

I just did some more research and found our cruises; however, the first one has a line through it, and the others are at higher prices.  I was under the impression that I would be notified of price drops, but I don't know how to submit our cruises in order to receive informaiton on them.

Re: how does it all work?

First you need to read the material on the left side of the screen "Welcome to CruiseFish".  After you have made payment and established your credits, you then go to "finder" (link in material referred to in first sentence) and find the cruise line;  then find the ship; then find the date.  After you have found those you set up the alert as described in FAQ at the bottom of the page.

When something has a line through it, it means that it is no longer available.

Thanks, again!  I made a payment last night but did not take the time to read all of the FAQ.  When I found our cruises in Finder this morning, I noticed that the prices on our bookings are less so I am hoping to see price drops in a few months.  I assume thtat, once you have paid for your cruise in full, it can no longer be changed.  That's why I need to understand how cruisefish before our cruises in May and August.

I have never sailed Princess so don't know how they work.  Royal Caribbean will let you upgrade after final payment and prices have dropped.  There are some exceptions such as "new bookings only" type thing.

Good luck.  It is always a thrill to capture a nice price drop!

OK.  I just realized that I had seen the Welcome page.  It's the home page.  Then I discovred the FAQ at the bottom of a page in the Finder or Alert.  I've been all over the site so can't remember exactly, but I printed the FAQ about setting up an alert so think I can manage now.  You need to have more fun than writing to a novice.

    Happy Aloha Thursday!

It looks like I was able to set up two alerts, and I have 10 credits left so it must have worked.  Now I hope to pay a lower fare at some point.

Does the per person price that I input also include taxes and port charges?
