We did the 18 day on Royal Caribbean and really enjoyed it. As long as you are enduring the long trip to get there, you might as well stay as long and see as much as you can! Perth and Sydney are the only ports we had in common. We also included New Zealand and Tasmania. Suggest you add a couple of days on each end and make the most of Perth & Sydney.
