Re: CruiseFish - no longer useful?

I too still find the site usefull considering it's very low cost. We saved $500 on a cabin for Barcelona-Dubai on Quantum next May due to a cruisefish alert.

The cruiselines also know the site is useful and all the mumbo jumbo priceing they use at the moment is a way to mess with people who are trying to get price drops.

Look forward to CF solving the puzzle.

Joined this site this past weekend. Looking to save. Glad I only invested $4.95 as I never received the alert for the Monday price drop. The cruise details high/low still does not reflect the Carnival price drop. I booked and got the price I wanted but with no help from this site.

I went to the Princess site yesterday and found the price had dropped slightly on a cruise I have been tracking.  I had not recived an alert from Cruisefish, but I hoped one would come quickly, just to confirm CF was on the job.  It is now more than 24 hours later and still no alert from CF.  And, yes, the lower price is still being offered by Princess.

If you want it checked, I guess you should provide the per slink as requested by Titus.

Long time CF user who has saved with this website several times, but concur CF is not as functional of late.  I am booked and tracking a NCL cruise, but found recent signifcant price drop by accident.  While CF's pricing correctly reflected the change, it never alerted me.  I wondered if my email filter was blocking the alert by accident, then 1 week later the alert showed up.  I will continue to use CF since I still have credits; however, I have lost some confidence.

New user to the site as well and hoping this will save some hard-earned cash as well.  We will be sailing on the Carnival Vista out of NYC when it arrives in the states.  Kind of concerned though as CF is reporting the rates for all of the interior and oceanview cabins are not available and none of the other rate groups (i.e. Early Saver) are updated, only the FunSelect rate. Hoping all of the rates will start to be reported, but will have to see how it goes.  I guess it was only a $5 investment.  I usually check on a weekly basis myself, but that can get tedious when you get busy and forget to check and lose out on a good drop!

I am tracking eleven cruises on CF.  Today, March 1, 2015, eight of these cruises had price changes;  Princess' were all raised, while three Celebrity cruises were lowered and three stayed the same.    Yet, I received only one notification from CF for a lone Princess cruise.  though I should have gotten a total of eight, I would hope.  Don't depend on alerts;  check regularly on your own.

How many price changes actually appeared on your alert pages, and/or are captured in the history?

Your observations are similar to my own. Alerts that used to appear all the time are now spotty at best. This apparent inability to reliably capture price changes and provide timely alerts will also degrade the value of the price history stats.

Very disappointing, and there doesn't appear to be any serious effort to correct the problem - which may be systemic. Oh, oh!

That's the maddening thing.  All the changes appeared in my alert pages, but I received only one email, not eight

The data for other rate groups & singles for this sailing "appeared" approximately 6-hours after adding it to my alerts. I've noticed that happening several other times.

Re: CruiseFish - no longer useful?

I am new to CF & was able to set one alert & have booked 2 more sailings & can't get the alerts to set for the 2 new ones.  The first is set for Feb.  I have another scheduled for Nov., 2016 & then in Mar., 2017.  Can't get the Nov or Mar to set.  I do what the instructions say & nothing.  I have credits available too.  Any help would be appreciated.  TIA!

Re: CruiseFish - no longer useful?

CF missed a price drop on 7/1 for one of the sailings that I am watching.    I sent an email to Titus about it a couple of days ago and still have not heard back.  I agree with the others, it seems like lately I am finding the price drops before I get an alert

Re: CruiseFish - no longer useful? [ALWAYS HAS WORKED GREAT FOR ME]...

I have used CF since it's inception through titis's grueling work and fighting to get this thing working, he has worked diligencetly for years, a one man show. Believe me, he does it for the love and not the $'s I believe he has done an exceptional job. We have to remember, he relies on us for feedback so he can help US! We had to take a 3 year health sabatical (sp?) and are now back in full cruise mode with a lot to catch up on. Cruise Fish has never let me down, we cruise many lines and are not loyal spicific to any. I just get the emails and get my cash, no issues like there were in the inception that we all worked through... Titus? Great job as always, great product! Hope you are well... PS: Remember, the cruise lines and Cruise Critic are not fond of this tool and has done all it can to foil it...
