Celebrity Prices - you have a problem

Celebrity has started to only publish "new booking only" prices on their web site.  While that's fine for someone who is going to make a new booking, those prices are not valid under Celebrities "guaranteed lowest rate" offer, they are not valid for someone who already has a booking and wants to take advantage of a price drop and they are not valid for Celebrity's one cabin class upgrade for captain's club members.  As a result, Cruisefish is sending me (and others) price reductions that aren't useful.

By the way, there appears to be no way to find out the actual "non sale" price which would be used in all the above situations without calling Celebrity. Unless CruiseFish can solve this, it's value to me and likely others has been significantly reduced...and that translates to CruiseFIsh $'s.

Yep... I second the concern after discussing price drops with my TA on several of my existing bookings. None of the drops were valid .

I also agree.  This needs to be fixed.

I read there policy on price drop and it says as long as you apply for the price drop before final payment or with 48hrs of originally booking you qualify for the price drop either in a reduced fair or an onboard credit.  But you can loose the added value to your cruise.  I usually cruise Royal Carribean.  Recently my TA was having trouble with the RC representitive because all there booking state New Bookings Only.   I told my TA if that is the problem cancel my existing booking in which I would get my deposit back and rebook it as new.  The RC rep finally saw the light.  I did loose the $50 on Added Value but have saved $3,200 on three cruises.

Yes, they seem to allow you to cancel your current booking and rebook at the "new booking" rate with whatever the perks are with the new booking.  If you have an on-board purchase perk...even the one that's combinable with one other offer, you lose that as well because you are making a new booking.  CAUTION: If you have a choice air flight associated with the first booking you have to be really careful about cancelling and rebooking or you will have an air ticket cancellation fee to deal with.  It's just not as easy as you make it sound.

Many of us who are captain's club classic or above can get a free upgrade within supercategory...that is you get an A1 cabin for the price of an A2.....however if you cancel that reservation and/or try to book using the rate shown on the celebrity web site, they won't adjust your fare or allow you to get that upgrade either, even though it is combinable with 1-2-3 and other perks.

Celebrity's fares and perks are very confusing...with fine print limitations to be sure you don't get that attractive new price....the one shown on their web site and the one picked up by cruisefish.  It's a problem

It's still more reliable to book celebrities with a help of agencies (not third-parties). That's how you have guarantees. It's also much cheapier to do it that way. I know a guy who booked a star on https://bstars.eu/. he said it was alright. The list of celebrities is impressive there, you might want to check it out. Also they are good in handling organization or whatever you come up with for a cruise.
