Re: Best Agency based on PRICE only

I have used several different agencies, but always have everything in order when I book (I have the cabin, price, etc. already picked out). I do most of my searching online and try to book online if possible (gives me the opportunity to print out quoted info so eliminate the "I never told you that").

Searching: I use Travelocity. They are the ONLY ones that I know of that allow you to sort by price per night. This shows you the least expensive cruises regardless of length or itinerary. I'm a budget cruiser, so I want to know what the least expensive options for me are out there.

Booking: Short cruise or dirt cheap cruises I typically book directly with the cruise line. There's not much of a bonus or perk that can be offered on a really cheap cruise (not enough to pull me away). Longer cruises, I tend to book with Delta (skymilescruises.com). They frequently offer double or triple bonus miles on a balcony or above. On 2 week cruises, that's 30,000 airline miles! More than enough for a round trip flight and a much better than any perk I have seen offered by any travel agency. Crucon is the absolute worst. They have goodperks but are awful with customer service and horrible with hours. What is promised is not always what you get when you are on the ship and you spend vacation time trying to sort out lost onboard credits and/or dining comps.

All in all, shop around. Your best perk could be from a different agency each time. If you don't have the skills or patience to do alot of searching on your own, a good knowledgeable travel agent is your best bet. Please note I am not a travel agent and not soliciting for business! Hope this helps.

You are exactly right! I give customer service from the day you book with me and sail. i am available and if a OBC is not on your account i give the invoice to my clients so that they can have it credited along working with the cruisline at the same time . I book short cruises and give OBC and yes I may not make alot of $$ but my clients will hopefully refer me . I cannot change cruisline pricing that is rebating But many large agency's get blocked space which allows them to receive the lower price .You get what you pay for is my motto I am not promoting myself but a good travel agent is there for you! I also price match if my client finds a lower price ,than then i file the necessary paperwork to the cruisline. I cannot watch every cruise so i advise my clients keep an eye out contact me and we will get the lower rate It is 4:06am I had a client with a problem who called my business line and i stayed up fixing the problem

Re: Best Agency based on PRICE only

I got a dose of a bad agent today when I attempted to book a cruise based on a travel company's web site.  $1299 pp for a Guarantee Cabin plus up to $1000 in other benefits.  Yup, but when I called,  I was told the benefits, which would have totaled over $250 pp, were not available with that fare.  Now, I understand restrictions, but i don't understand why the restrictions weren't noted on the web site.  Oh, well, we just returned from one cruise and certainly didn't need a second one so soon and to a place we've visited many times in the past at that  Nevertheless, it smacked of a bait and switch as the reductions were available if we spent $400 pp more for the same category stateroom.  Heck, I can go directly to the cruise line and get the original price;  why bother with a bad agent?.

Re: Best Agency based on PRICE only

Everyone has there own way of booking a cruise what I am saying there are agents out there who are only looking at the $$ amount I will give you an example a client was referred to me I lost commission but she was a referrel on a 4 day cruise . I gave her an OBC plus derink coupon . I want my clients not to worry and to be hassle free when they book there vacation or cruise . I am avialble for them 24/7 and if im not the owner of the agency takes my calls . Some agents out there dont care I do and this is why. "Before I became and agent I got literally screwed was promised this and that and got nothing..." I am not soliciting! what I am saying is that not all agents are bad ... So you might of took my response the wrong way I like hearing that you get more perks with your sky miles and yes I book through them for clients and many others See I am a destination specialist who works with numerous suppleirs and I am trained certified I just dont sit at my computer and book I read , rsearch constantly ...

Short cruises my clients get an obc and drink coupon my gift to you and hoping you will return

This was from my new client for a short cruise This si me Customer Service!!!

"This is my first booking with Anne, and although I do not leave for my cruise for another 2 days, the experience has already been GRAND!!!  Anne has sent me correspondence on my booking, info on what to expect on my cruise and even threw in a couple of very needed plastic luggage tags and other very appreciated favors.  It is more convenient for me to communicate through email, and she has been very prompt with all of her responses.  I can admit that working with Anne has already been much easier than working with the cruise line directly.  Most importantly, she keeps stressing that she is available at any time, even when I am aboard my cruise.  Thanks again Anne for making my travel STRESSFREE!!!"""
