Tips on upselling to higher category when prices drop

    Hi!

I would like to get some knowledge from fellow CruiseFishers with trying to get a better category than what you orignally book.  I will be cruising in three weeks and I book a Category F cabin on RCL.  There is a price drop on their weekly sale coming up next week on their Balcony cabins.  Any tips would be greatly appreciated so that I can use this website to my advantage and hopefully, get into a Balcony cheaply.

    Thanks!

Unfortunately, the weekly sale is usually for NEW bookings only.  Your best bet is to also monitor categories above yours and you might catch a price drop that way.

In addition to the above wait until Wed and if the low price is still there you can call to upgrade.  Also I have heard of stories on Cruise Critic of folks that have gone thru the RCL Resolutions dept and gotten as upgrade as long as you are paying at least $1 or more for the cabin.  Good luck

Thanks for the great suggestion.  But since I booked through a TA I probably won't be able to get assistance from RCL, correct?  I'll take your advice and wait till Weds. and call in to my TA and see if I can get into a higher cabin.  I'll keep you posted on whether I succeed or not.  Keeping my fingers crossed!

Yes you would have to have your TA advocate for you.  Not sure if they would do that or not.  We always book direct.
