Sorry to say, Cruisefish has not alerted me to new pricing on a cruise I've been tracking for months. By the time I noticed the price reduction, the cost had risen again. I still hope to get a good deal and it won't be the end of the world if I don't connect, as we took the exact cruise last year. Nevertheless, I had come to trust CF implicitly. Now I know better. Only God is perfect
Yes, only GOD is right :) please give us details, b/c I put in my alerts, etc for my cruise and I got an email stating what changed and I went from a D3 balcony to a Family Oceanview Balcony on the Oasis, so CF works, we just need to help you w/ your alerts. CF isn't perfect it just gives us a heads up per su.
Well, I don't require an explanation, as I know no system is perfect, not even Obamacare I am merely alerting CF users that it doesn't hurt to check periodically on your own. I've used CF for years and this is the first time I noted an omission. I don't intend to abandon CF, but I will be more prone to check on my own.
I have been tracking two Celebrity 2013 Christmas cruises on the Eclipse and the Equinox. CF lists guarantee cabins for X, XC, and XA on the Equinox, but shows nothing for the Eclipse even though the Celebrity site shows such fares are available.
I was ready to proceed with a new agent as the fare I'm interested in along with his credits made for a very attractive price. He never contacted me as promised and at that point the fare rose again. But only briefly, as it 's back at the original level. So, no harm done, and apparently Celebrity is bouncing the fares around, so-who knows?- it might go lower.
DW and I are driven solely by price and don't need any help with hotels, airplanes, or hand holding by agents. I suspect most CF users are in the same boat. We do, however, expect people who make their living providing a service to...provide service. In this case it was as simple as his picking up the phone and calling me. Other agents, I'm sure, will jump at the opportunity.
My gripe really is more with the agent, but these things usually work themselves out.
I had asked about this, to see if in fact it was a Celebrity cruise you were describing because as previously notated opn this forum numerous times here is Celebrity and Cruise Fish do not seem well compatible. Especially when you start pricing Concierge, Aqua and Suite prices. They don't align with the Celebrity website prices. There seems to be some type of glitch. Its too bad, Celebrity is one of our favorite and I too am often driven by price. Additionally when Celebrity does change their price, I often find CF doesn't post that for at least a day. Again, I've only found this with Celebrity (vs. Royal) which I also track here. CF is worth it, really, a penny a cruise track. I also never have to check Royal prices vs CF, but when it comes to Celebrity, you definetly need to double check.
Navigating Celebrity's site is a long standing problem and might have some effect on CF, but CF is showing these cabin classes on the Equinox cruises. For some reason the same classes are not appearing on the Eclipse cruise, which leads me to believe the culprit in this case, at least, is CF. These fares have shown on the Celebrity site for at least a week now. CF is an aid but not a panacea.
We have done two Celebrity transatlantics and used CF to track them. There were no problems that I could find during that period as I also checked periodically. CF caught one price drop that lasted less than a day. Both were on Eclipse and the last one was over a year ago. I was also tracking one we were interested in but have not double checked that one so don't know how it is doing comparitively. I know there have not been as many changes as before so could be a "bug" crept in but I'm pretty sure it was right on track a year or so ago.
Something is amiss. I get constant e-mail alerts on one of the two Equinox cruises I've been tracking, but I cannot recall the last time I received any alert for the second Equinox or the Eclipse, even though I know changes on both have occurred. Plus, the guarantee categories I previously mentioned as missing are still not being shown.
The good news for DW and me is that we have booked a cruise at a good price so all is well with us. Others might not be as fortunate if they are depending solely on CF. A lesson learned, I hope.
This site is now unreliable. DO NOT RELY ON THIS SITE.. In the past it worked wonderfully.. I saved significant money or upgraded categories at little or no costs because of the alerts. The feeds and notification are problematic at best these days. DO NOT RELY ON THIS SITE..
I to am getting NOTHING from Cruisefish.....and there have been many reductions that I have seen on cruise lines website. What's going on......they should refund money paid.....
Also very dissappointed with this site. I had high hopes. But I'm looking for NCL prices and there is nothing showing for 2018!!!!! What the heck???? Don't waste your money.
I'm tracking 3 cruises on RCCL and Celebrity and have been receiving updates and price reductions as expected.
Same here. Unfortunately all of my alerts are prices going up!
I just checked again this morning - no cruises for 2018 on NCL are showing.
There have seemed to be a lot of complaints with CF lately, for me I have rarely had issues so I am a very satisfied, longtime user.
I can only imagine the logistics involved in a site of this kind and Titus (owner/operator) originally started this venture many years ago to help us fellow cruisers, nothing more, that is the truth. I mean a buck a cruise, unlimited category’s, what a bargain. He has worked hard and fought the cruise industry for all those years, what a battle and I don’t think it has made him like a billionaire or anything.
If for some reason CF is or has been on the outs (of which I doubt as it still works for most) I would hope that for all of the thousands of dollars Titus has saved each and every one of us that we would cut him some slack. Asking for a refund of a couple of dollars in retrospect seems pretty petty to me.
I understand if you’re not getting your money’s worth for what you spent with your buck on in most cases but again, CF has saved every one of us thousands of dollars, how do you go about closing a site that for most of us works and then how would you ever return everyone’s dollar...
Just my 2 cents worth and I am sure I'll get eaten alive here but that’s OK, CF and Titus have been wonderful to me, every single recommendation I have brought to it and probably 95% of its customer base! Nothing is perfect but I think CF has tried, tried really hard with a lot of BS thrown at it!
That's all I have to say...
Thank you Titus and CF
