    What to wear in April/May

Have never done this cruise to Alaska.  Does anyone know how cold it is or what to wear?  I really don't want to pack too much.

We went to Alaska on May 21st. Make sure you bring a raincoat, umbrella, a coat, and blue jeans. In skagway we froze, in Juneau I got a sunburn. Just be prepared and dress in layers. It will be cool enough for a jacket, scarf (it can be windy ) we never had a chance to wear shorts. you will love, love alaska :)  and make sure you do excursions, its worth every penny.

You will just love it! We did a small cruise w/ 26 glaciers before our BIG cruise, you go to all these glaciers and a meal is included. I know you didn't ask but I don't want you to miss out. In Juneau we did the an excursion w/ northstar trekking and took a helicopter up to a glacier and hiked for two or three hrs. - time goes by fast. Skagway we did the Whitepass all the way up. Just a few options if you're interested. We actually stayed at the Aleskya Resort (spelled wrong) and it was really nice the night before the cruise. Have a great time :)  oh, Whale watching is really good, but we missed it b/c we wanted the glacier trek more.

We are coming in to Vancouver the day before we leave on our cruise.  Where did you hook up to the excursions you did?  We haven't booked a place to stay overnight as yet. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

oh ok, sorry should've looked at your itinerary from above. We flew into Alaska and ended in Vancouver. The 26 glaciers is on the website (but if you choose to do this after the cruise, you'll do this in Whitter, also there is another one called major marine - does the same tour), but after your cruise you may not feel like doing it., but you will get more upclose, etc. On the heli/trekking we went w/ Northstar Trekking (on website) - had plenty of time to shop afterwards and get back to ship. Skagway was w/ Chikoot charters, also whale watching is w/ Harv and Marv or Orca enterprizes (people say either are good) - google them all and you'll see their website. If you get rained out/snowed out on the glacier trek, have a backup plan and do the whale watching. The guides will be out to help you. Hope this helps
