Celebrity cruises only showing USD prices

Hi, I just noticed that the Finder is only showing USD prices for Celebrity cruises. An example is http://www.cruisefish.net/finder.md?id_cruise=23338 but it applies to others too. I also looked in my settings as different cruises have different USD state residency displays, but I couldn't find anything to cause that. I compared against RCL and that still shows multiple currencies.

    Yes, that's not a bug it's a feature

To save on bandwidth and speed up price updates we now only fetch and display USD/standard prices. But when setting up an alert you can still access special rates and foreign currencies as before. These rates will display as soon as the alert is set and refresh normally a short while later.

So there's no way to see other currencies unless an alert is set up any more?

That does make things a lot less useful.

... unless you become an Unlimited Member (Annual or Lifetime) and can set alerts (even silent ones) on all the cruises you are interested in

But I understand what your are saying. However it's for the common good because fetching prices for rates/currencies nobody monitors slows down price updates for rates which are monitored. So it's a trade off.

On the plus side this new economical system will allow us to support more special rates in other currencies than USD as well as solo, 3d passenger, etc. rates.

Personally I find it more cumbersome to set up many alerts for anything possibly interested in, and that information wouldn't be available until the alert was set up so it does make things less convenient. I just see the different currencies as being of general interest/use, whereas state based and 3/4 rates are individual.

However, even though as you can tell I'm disappointed by the change, thank you for explaining the details and rationale.

    What a shame.

Makes the site useless for people here in the UK and Europe, as the prices can vary widely.

Definitely a big mistake to cut off large chunks of the globe.

    Sorry :(

Nobody is being "cut off". EUR, CAD and GBP currencies are still supported but you need to set an alert so see them. These alerts can be silent, that means they trigger no email but just allow you (and other cruisers) to watch a particular rate: simply uncheck all event boxes when setting up the alert.

    Thanks for the reply.

So, USA folks see them for free, but Canadian, UK and Europe folks have to pay!

How would anyone from these countries even know that you supported the currencies if they are hidden.

Sorry bad move, and as a result I have to stop promoting your site.

Another good site is ruined.... :(

I hope you can reconsider, as it can't be bandwidth related - as that is much cheaper now.

Just checked on the Liberty, 5 NT Med on April 20 and I am only getting 2 columns...USA and Euro.  what about the other cols....Senior, Florida, Military, etc?

    Hi Titus,

I really hope you reconsider this decision.

USD price drops no way give an indication of EUR price drops. And how do I know if the price of a cruise is interesting if I can´t see it.

Perhaps you have a better suggestion for your loyal offshore supporters.

It's been a year, and since the bandwidth and speed situation can change, thought I'd check if there's any chance this can be revisited?

Apparently HAL is only supporting US$ and a standard rate as well.  I wanted to monitor senior and past rates in Canadian$.
