    Cruisefish Posting wrong rate codes

When receiving an alert for Carnival Cruise price drops, many times the alert is stating the rate code is for fun saver. Every time I get this and check with Carnival, I find the rate is not a fun saver rate, but an early saver rate. Here is an example:

    Hi,

You mean Fun Select (not Fun Saver) ?

On 8 August you were notified of a Fun Select price drop for 4B which was correct at the time (the price had gone back up since then).

Yes correct, Fun Select. I understand that the price has gone up since, and I am not confused about that. The issue was after being notified of the Fun Select drop in price, I immediately went to Carnivals website and saw that the price did not match. I then looked at the early saver rate and compared it to what cruisefish reported the Fun Select to be and they were exactly the same. It is one example of the several I have come across. I will keep an eye out in the future and notify you ASAP when it happends again.

Titus, here is an example of an error. The alert is this: http://www.cruisefish.net/alert/index.md?code=5b297a76b5b7c717acf31413428fe45f

Cruisefish states that the Fun Saver rate has dropped for a 4C category from $589 to $509

First of all, the Fun Saver Rate at Carnival is only for guarantee cabins i.e. (IS, OV and BL), so I guess you could end up in a 4c, but you cannot book into a 4C. Secondly the 4C rate of $509 only shows up with Carnival under their 3 day sale they currently have.

Re: Cruisefish Posting wrong rate codes

I seem to be having the same problem. I signed up to have the rates for an 8K on the Carnival Legend for the 9/23/12 sailing.

I have an alert that says the price dropped to $629 for Fun Select. However when I go to the website and check for this it's showing that the price is in fact the same as it has been which is $1698 for two people for a total of $849 per person.

Cruisefish still shows that $629 is the current price drop for this category and that the price is not supposed to have gone back up as of now, but that's not what I'm seeing on Carnival's website. I paid for an alert to tell me when the price drops, but when I check it on Carnival it's still up at $849...? :realconfused:

Re: Cruisefish Posting wrong rate codes

I know, I had the same problem today but have not had enough time to illustrate it. Fun Select is reporting other rate codes like Carnival's three day sale, which I am glad to recieve notice. You may want to check the other rate codes, as it is probably one of them. I love this website, but want to make sure it is reporting accurately. Carnival is one of the big problems. Most of the time if I check the other sales going on at the time I find that the rate reported is one of those. Carnival runs sales and promotions that can change literally within hours. I hope this helps, and if you have signed up with Carnival, you should receive notices of them when they happen, so you know if there is a discrepancy in what cruisefish reports, it usually applies to another sale or offer.

Re: Cruisefish Posting wrong rate codes

I'm having trouble finding where the price Cruisefish is posting fits. It says the price has dropped to $629/person, but even with the three day sale I don't see that price? Maybe it's just me because I'm somewhat new to this, but currently when I view Carnival's fareviewer it shows $849/person still. :realconfused:

Re: Cruisefish Posting wrong rate codes

I am sorry you are having trouble, but the three day sale does show on Carnival's website as 629 plus tax. You have to be a past passenger to book this rate. Are you? If you want to book the cruise I can help, but I will not post any contact informaiton in this forum, let me know and if the sale is still going on by the time I hear from you I will help.

No this is our first cruise. I see what you're saying now about the price being correct, but corresponding to the incorrect code. My email said that was the price for Fun Select, but really it's a 3 day sale past guest rate then? If only I were a past guest this would save me $180, lol. Oh well I'll keep checking back.

Yes it does save you money and provides for certain perks as well. Your sailing is very soon, and if you really want to go on the cruise I would suggest booking now, if you can. The Legend is a good ship, and the itinerary is good as well. I hope the insight has been helpful and remember if you book online you are helping the Walmarts of the world, not the personal service you would have otherwise received. We can offer the same and best rates that any agency or online service offers, unless they cut thier commissions, which I will not do. But I hope this helps in your search, and I wish you a great first cruise!

Re: Cruisefish Posting wrong rate codes

Oh sorry I have the price alert b/c I'm already booked under Early Saver. I'm watching for price drops in order to get OBC at this point. Otherwise you've been very helpful and I would have definitely considered booking through you or someone like you.

Cool. remember the early saver rates can be booked through a travel agent, AND you have an advocate on your side if you do so. Good luck with your cruise! Also, if the early saver drops, call Carnival and they will refund you the difference.
