Where do I find the rates you post?

I'm watching rates for Carnival Magic, sailing May 13, 2012, category 8E. I see a price drop today down to $919, but the Carnival site is giving me a rate of $1119. I found a couple other sites at a price of $1019, but nothing lower than that. So where can I find that $919 price? I booked Early Saver, so I'd love to take advantage of the price drop.

Check the Carnival Fare Viewer http://www.carnival.com/BookingEngine/FareViewer

There are two different "Summer Is On" promotional fares. The second one listed is for Past Guests and that one shows $919 for your cruise. If you are a Past Guest on Carnival you would qualify for the price match under Early Saver and should submit the form.

Then why, here on CruiseFish, is the price listed at $919 for the Fun Select rate, but the past guest is $969? What's the difference between the two columns?

I do have an Early Saver rate and have received several credits already. Unfortunately I don't qualify for the past guest rate. But I also know that the Carnival Fare Viewer page doesn't always show the lowest rate. A couple times I've applied for a lower rate, and been told there was an even LOWER rate I qualified for. I love the surprise, I just don't quite understand where these lower rates are found!

Re: Where do I find the rates you post?

For Carnival, Cruise Fish only has columns for Fun Select, Early Saver, Senior, Past Guest, and Military. Any other promotional rates get thrown into the Fun Select column and it is luck of the draw (and timing of fare retrieval) as to which rate gets populated into that column at each refresh.

Titus says he has it on his to-do list to add an "all-other" column so that Fun Select would remain "pure".

That $919 fare does show on the Carnival Fare Viewer. That's the best place I know of to find fares, especially ones that Carnival wont argue with.

Ok, thanks for the info! I just want to make sure I'm not missing out on another price drop.

Do rates that show up on FareViewer always show when you do a mock booking? I received an alert this morning, but FareViewer seems to be down, and the rate I got an alert for is not showing under a mock booking. The alert rate is It's Sunny Somewhere Sale-Past Guests.

    Thank you.

I believe in order for your request to be checked out, you need to post the link you used--giving the cruise line, ship, cruise date, etc.
